Lainey Synths was born in July 2024, right here in Cape Town.
We are a fully online business with no physical store, which means we bring the shop straight to your door. What started as a love for beautiful, affordable synthetic wigs has quickly grown into something bigger. Today, we are expanding our range to include human hair, Virgin hair, business stationery, and wholesale options.
We are not just a wig brand anymore. We are becoming your one stop shop for hair and business essentials.
Though we are based in South Africa, our reach goes far beyond. We deliver across the country and to clients all over the world. Our promise is simple: quality that speaks for itself, prices that make sense, and service that feels like family.

šA Word from Our Founder, Elaine
Lainey Synths started with a very personal need.
At the time, I was a short hair girl. Blonde, ash blonde to be exact. I love fashion and I have many sides to my personality. I needed hair that could keep up with all of them. I wanted to be able to cut it, style it, dye it, and wear it in so many different ways without feeling guilty about the cost. I am very impulsive too. I think about it, I want it done now.
Now with investment hair, I could not bring myself to do all of that. The thought of using scissors on something so costly held me back. Every creative urge was met with hesitation. I wanted to experiment, but I felt trapped by the value of what it cost to get the hair.
That is when synthetic wigs made perfect sense for me. I could have the variety I wanted without the heavy commitment. Looking back, I suppose I am the ultimate muse for this brand. I do not like to compromise on what I want. That means I want it now, I want it prepared now, but I also want it to last me for at least two years. A lot of thought, care, and consideration went into building Lainey Synths. Every choice we make is guided by that same balance between speed, quality, and longevity.
Lainey Synths was not built for people who follow the rules. It was built for those who dare to break them. For the ones who refuse to fit into a single box, who express themselves boldly, and who see creativity as a way of life. This brand is for the rule breakers, the dreamers, and the ones who know that beauty has no limits.
