Moon Cookies ("we", "us", "our") is a Singapore-based bakery. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you order from us or message us, how we use it, and your rights under Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA).
1. What we collect
When you place an order, join our waitlist or message us, we may collect:
Your name, mobile number and email address
Your delivery or collection details, including your address and chosen time slot
Your order history and preferences (for example, flavours ordered)
Payment confirmation details (we do not store card numbers; payments are made via PayNow or our payment provider)
The content of messages you send us on WhatsApp, Instagram, Telegram or email
Basic website analytics such as pages visited and device type
2. How we use it
We use your personal data to:
Take, prepare and fulfil your orders, and send order confirmations, payment confirmations and delivery or collection updates
Send you drop reminders if you have joined our waitlist or asked for a reminder
Reply to your questions and requests
Check in after your order and, with your agreement, invite you to leave a review
Improve our products, website and service
Comply with our legal obligations
We only send reminders and promotional messages to customers who have asked for them. You can stop them at any time (see section 6).
3. WhatsApp messaging
We use the WhatsApp Business Platform to send order updates and reminders and to reply to your messages. WhatsApp messages are delivered by Meta Platforms, Inc. and managed through respond.io, our messaging provider. Meta processes message data under its own privacy policy. We do not send marketing messages on WhatsApp unless you have opted in, and every reminder includes a way to stop receiving them.
4. Who we share data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run the business, and only as needed to do so:
Take App - our online store and order management
respond.io - our customer messaging platform
Make.com - automation that connects our order system and messaging
Meta (WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook) - message delivery and advertising
Google - website analytics and reviews
Delivery partners such as Lalamove - your name, address and phone number for delivery
Payment providers - to confirm payment
These providers may store data outside Singapore. Where they do, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is protected to a standard comparable to the PDPA.
5. Cookies and analytics
Our website uses Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel to understand how visitors use the site and to measure our advertising. These tools use cookies and similar technologies. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
6. Your choices
Stop reminders: reply "stop" to any reminder, tap the "stop reminders" button on it, or message us. You will still receive messages about orders you have placed.
Leave our Telegram channel at any time from within Telegram.
Access or correct your data: email us and we will provide or update the personal data we hold about you.
Withdraw consent: you may withdraw consent for us to collect, use or disclose your personal data by contacting us. This may mean we are unable to fulfil future orders.
7. How long we keep data
We keep order records for as long as needed to fulfil orders, handle enquiries and meet our legal and accounting obligations. Waitlist and reminder information is kept only while you are on the list. Message history is kept to provide you with continuity of service.
8. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal data from unauthorised access, use or disclosure, including limiting access to the people and providers who need it.
9. Children
Our products and services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 18 without parental consent.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on our website with the date it was updated.
