Fabu-Health Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before beginning your Fabu-Health journey.

About Fabu-Health

What is Fabu-Health?

Fabu-Health is a Somatology-led aesthetics and wellness practice based in Brooklyn, Pretoria.

We offer personalised support for skin health, healthy ageing, weight management and general wellness. Our approach is built around consultation, consistency and a plan customised to your individual needs.

What makes your approach different?

We do not offer one-size-fits-all solutions or recommend treatments simply because they are popular.

We take time to understand your concerns, history, lifestyle, current routine and goals. Your plan is then built around what is suitable, realistic and manageable for you.

Is Fabu-Health a beauty salon?

No. Fabu-Health is an aesthetics and wellness practice.

Our focus is professional skin health, healthy ageing, body wellness, weight-management support and carefully planned treatments.

Consultations

Do I need a consultation?

A consultation is the best place to begin, especially if you are visiting us for the first time or are unsure which treatment or product you need.

It allows us to understand:

* Your main concern
* What you have already tried
* Your current products, medication or treatments
* Relevant sensitivities or health considerations
* Your lifestyle and goals
* The level of consistency you can realistically maintain

Consultation is compulsory for selected services.

Can you recommend a treatment from a photograph?

A photograph can help us understand your concern, but it cannot replace a complete consultation.

Skin, weight and wellness concerns may have several contributing factors that cannot be assessed from an image alone. We may recommend an in-person consultation before providing a treatment or product plan.

Will I receive treatment during my consultation?

Not always.

Some services may be performed on the same day if sufficient time has been booked and the practitioner confirms that the treatment is suitable. Other services may require preparation or a separate appointment.

Why is consistency important?

One appointment or product cannot always address a concern that developed over several months or years.

Progress may require regular treatments, correct home care, appropriate lifestyle support and progress reviews. Your plan may also need to be adjusted as your skin, body or goals change.

We focus on responsible and sustainable progress rather than instant or guaranteed results.

Skincare Products

Which skincare brands do you work with?

We work with selected professional ranges, including:

* Lamelle
* Mesoestetic
* Dermaceutic
* Heliocare

Products are recommended according to your skin, concerns and treatment plan.

Can I purchase products without a consultation?

Some products may be purchased directly. Active or professionally prescribed products may require consultation, particularly if your skin is sensitive or you are already using medication or strong active ingredients.

Can you create a skincare routine for me online?

We can provide general product information and help you identify an appropriate starting point. A complete routine requires a consultation so that we can assess your skin, current products and concerns properly.

Do you help with pigmentation?

Yes. We support clients with concerns such as hyperpigmentation, post-acne marks, melasma and uneven-looking skin tone.

Because pigmentation has different triggers and patterns, your plan may include professional treatments, home care, sun protection and regular progress reviews.

We do not offer skin bleaching or promise permanent pigmentation removal.

Do you help with acne?

Yes. We support concerns involving breakouts, congestion, oiliness, post-acne marks and uneven texture.

Acne may have several contributing factors. If your concern requires medical diagnosis or prescription treatment, we may recommend that you consult an appropriate healthcare professional.

What if my skin is sensitive or damaged?

Sensitive or over-treated skin does not always need another aggressive treatment.

We may recommend calming and supporting your skin barrier before introducing professional resurfacing treatments or stronger active ingredients.

Skin Treatments

Which aesthetic treatments do you offer?

Our services may include:

* Professional skin consultations
* Chemical peels
* Microneedling
* Mesotherapy
* Professional skin boosters
* Oxygen facials
* Dermalux LED phototherapy
* Carbon laser peels
* Selected laser services
* Customised facials
* Practitioner-led injectable services

Availability and suitability are confirmed during consultation or when booking.

What is a chemical peel?

A chemical peel supports controlled exfoliation and skin renewal.

Depending on the peel selected, it may help improve the appearance of congestion, dullness, uneven texture, post-acne marks, hyperpigmentation and visible ageing.

Your skin may need to be prepared before certain peels. A stronger peel is not always the most appropriate choice.

Will my skin visibly peel?

Not necessarily.

Some clients experience dryness, flaking or sensitivity, while others have very little visible downtime. This depends on the peel selected, your skin condition and your individual response.

What is microneedling?

Microneedling creates controlled microchannels in the skin to support its natural renewal response.

It may help improve the appearance of uneven texture, selected scars, hyperpigmentation and visible ageing. Treatment depth and any accompanying booster are selected according to your assessed needs.

What is mesotherapy?

Mesotherapy is a targeted professional treatment using selected formulations to support concerns such as dehydration, reduced radiance, uneven-looking skin and selected scalp or hair concerns.

The formulation and treatment method are selected following consultation.

Which professional boosters do you offer?

Depending on availability and suitability, options may include:

* Hyaluronic acid formulations
* Polynucleotides
* Exosomes
* Brightening formulas
* Retinol-based protocols
* Hair and scalp boosters

These products are not interchangeable or suitable for every client. Your practitioner will recommend an option only after assessing your individual needs.

What is an Algae Peel?

The Algae Peel is an intensive resurfacing treatment using algae- and mineral-based ingredients to support exfoliation and skin renewal.

It may be considered for congestion, uneven texture and post-acne marks. Consultation is compulsory for first-time clients because it is not suitable for every skin.

Sensitivity, peeling and downtime vary.

What is a Carbon Laser Peel?

The Carbon Laser Peel is a laser-assisted treatment that may support oil control, congestion, enlarged-looking pores and uneven texture.

Your skin must be assessed before treatment, especially if you have recently used active products, medication or other professional treatments.

What is an oxygen facial?

An oxygen facial is a gentle, hydration-focused treatment that supports comfortable, refreshed and healthy-looking skin.

It may be recommended when your skin needs hydration and support without intensive exfoliation.

What is Dermalux LED phototherapy?

Dermalux uses selected wavelengths of light to complement professional skincare programmes.

It may be included in plans focused on recovery, breakouts, redness or visible ageing. The light selected and treatment frequency depend on your individual needs.

Do you offer PRP?

PRP services are currently paused and cannot be booked.

Our team can help you explore an available alternative following consultation.

Injectables and Medical Services

Do you offer Botox and fillers?

Selected injectable services are available on designated medical days.

Consultation is compulsory, and treatment is subject to suitability and practitioner availability. Where required, services are performed by an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.

Do you offer IV services?

Selected IV services may be available on specific days following consultation.

IV services are not suitable for everyone and do not replace medical treatment, a balanced lifestyle or care for an underlying health condition.

Peptide-Based Services

What are peptides?

Peptides are short chains of amino acids involved in different biological processes. Different peptides have different uses, levels of supporting evidence and regulatory requirements.

A peptide being discussed online does not mean it is appropriate or suitable for everyone.

Does Fabu-Health offer peptide-based services?

Selected peptide-based services may be available following consultation and professional assessment.

We administer these services in the clinic and do not sell peptide products for unsupervised home use.

Can you recommend a peptide online?

No. We cannot recommend a peptide or confirm suitability through a brief online conversation.

Your consultation may consider your goals, relevant health information, current medication and previous experience before any service is discussed.

Can you provide dosing or reconstitution instructions?

No. We do not provide online dosing, reconstitution, injection or self-administration instructions.

Please do not inject products obtained from unknown or unverified suppliers based on information found online.

What is the Glow Peptide protocol?

The Glow Peptide protocol may include GHK-Cu, BPC-157 and TB-500. It may be discussed as part of selected skin, wellness or procedural-support plans following consultation.

It does not replace your surgeon’s instructions, prescribed medication or medical aftercare. Suitability and expectations must be discussed with the appropriate practitioner.

What is the Klow Peptide protocol?

Klow may include KPV alongside other selected components and is discussed within our customised wellness offering.

It is not automatically suitable for every client and should not be used to self-manage a medical condition.

Do you offer NAD+ and glutathione?

Selected NAD+ and glutathione services may be available following consultation and assessment.

These services should not be regarded as cures for fatigue, ageing, weight concerns or medical conditions. Glutathione is not offered or promoted as a skin-bleaching service.

Are peptide services suitable for everyone?

No.

Pregnancy, breastfeeding, medication, allergies, surgery, previous reactions and existing health conditions may affect suitability. Please disclose all relevant information during your consultation.

Weight-Management Support

Do you offer weight-management programmes?

Yes. Our weight-management service is structured, consultation-led and personalised.

We consider your goals, relevant health information, medication history, previous programmes, individual response and ability to remain consistent.

Do you sell weight-management injections for home use?

No. We do not sell peptide products for unsupervised home administration.

Where a programme is appropriate, services are provided in the clinic according to the relevant professional protocol.

Can you tell me what amount I should use online?

No.

The appropriate amount and progression must be determined during consultation by the relevant practitioner. We cannot confirm suitability, advise you to change medication or provide injection instructions online.

Can I change from another weight-management medication?

Any proposed change must be discussed with an appropriate healthcare professional.

Please provide the correct name of the medication, the date it was last used and any side effects you experienced. Do not stop or change prescribed medication based on general online information.

Does everyone lose weight at the same rate?

No. Every body responds differently.

Progress may be affected by your starting point, health information, medication, nutrition, movement, sleep, stress and consistency. We cannot guarantee a specific amount of weight loss or timeframe.

lifestyle still important?

Yes. A programme should support, rather than replace, sustainable nutrition, movement, sleep, stress management and other healthy habits.

Lipolysis and Body Contouring

What is lipolysis?

Lipolysis is a professional body-contouring service intended for selected localised areas.

It is not a general weight-loss treatment and should not be used as a substitute for a structured weight-management plan.

How do I know if lipolysis is suitable for me?

Suitability depends on the treatment area, your goals, relevant health information and practitioner assessment.

The required quantity and treatment plan cannot be determined from a photograph or online conversation.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions varies according to the area, your goals and your individual response.

A consultation is required before a plan can be recommended. No number of sessions can guarantee a specific result.

Is lipolysis permanent?

We do not promise permanent results.

Body changes may be influenced by weight fluctuations, lifestyle, hormones, ageing and consistency.

Do you offer cavitation, radiofrequency and laser lipo?

Selected body-contouring services may include cavitation, radiofrequency and laser-assisted treatments.

These services may be combined with lymphatic support as part of a customised body plan. The recommended combination depends on your assessment and goals.

Do you offer lymphatic drainage?

Yes. Lymphatic-support treatments may form part of selected body-contouring, recovery and wellness plans.

They do not replace medical treatment for diagnosed lymphatic or other health conditions.

Wellness and Healthy Ageing

What does wellness mean at Fabu-Health?

We recognise that skin, weight, stress, recovery, lifestyle and healthy ageing are interconnected.

Your wellness plan may include selected skin treatments, body services, weight-management support or practitioner-led services, depending on your individual needs.

Can you help with hormonal, gut or inflammation concerns?

We can discuss these concerns as part of your wider wellness goals and help you identify an appropriate starting point.

We do not diagnose or treat medical conditions online. Where necessary, we may recommend support from an appropriate healthcare professional.

Can I receive services while pregnant or breastfeeding?

Pregnancy and breastfeeding may affect the suitability of skincare products, treatments, injectables, peptides and wellness services.

Please disclose this information before booking. Your service may need to be adjusted, postponed or cleared by an appropriate healthcare professional.

Specials and Loyalty

Do you offer specials or first-time-client discounts?

Fabu-Health does not generally offer public specials or first-time-client promotions.

We believe your recommendations should be based on what is appropriate for you, not on which service happens to be discounted.

Do you have a loyalty programme?

Yes. Clients can earn points through qualifying treatment and product purchases, subject to the programme’s current terms.

The more qualifying purchases you make, the more points you may accumulate.

Do loyal clients receive exclusive offers?

We occasionally share selected offers with qualifying loyal clients based on their engagement and purchasing history.

These offers are sent directly to clients who have agreed to receive marketing communication. Eligibility is not guaranteed, and each offer is subject to its own terms and availability.
