The Apple iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max were officially announced on September 9, 2026, alongside the new foldable iPhone Duo. Pre-orders for the iPhone 18 Pro lineup open on Saturday, September 12, 2026, with official retail availability starting on Friday, September 18, 2026
Major Upgrades in the 18 Pro Lineup
Advanced A20 Pro Processor & Thermal Design: Built on Apple's pioneering 2-nanometer node, the A20 Pro features a 6-core CPU, 7-core GPU, and a Dual 16-core Neural Engine. It is cooled by a next-generation vapor chamber with three times more surface area, yielding a massive boost in sustained AI and gaming performance
Variable Aperture Pro Camera: The Pro camera array introduces a 48MP Fusion Main camera with a physical variable aperture, heavily improving depth-of-field control and low-light imaging. The front-facing lens has also been upgraded to an 18MP Center Stage camera
Next-Gen Connectivity: The devices debut Apple's in-house C2 cellular modem, which incorporates built-in AI to maintain better reception quality while using 15% less energy. It also features the N1 chip for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 support
Authenticity Tools (Siri AI & Reference Image): Powered by an upgraded, more personal Siri AI platform, the line also introduces Apple Reference Image. This creates an unalterable, cryptographically authenticated reference photo to visually confirm exactly what the camera sensor saw at the second of capture.
New Finishes: The titanium frames come in four colors: Burgundy, Glacier, Silver, and Black, paired with a color-matched rear glass
