What is Nairobeans?
Nairobeans provides the easiest and fastest way to cook beans in your kitchen.
We deliver pre-cooked legumes that are ready to use, helping you save time on soaking and boiling.
What products do you offer?
A variety of legumes namely;
Wairimu Beans (Red Kidney Beans)

Maize
When clients order for black beans, we should clarify whether it is black butter beans or njahi.
When clients order for red beans, we should clarify whether it is wairimu beans, nyayo beans or rosecoco beans.
When clients order for kawaida or normal beans, we should clarify whether it is nyayo beans, yellow beans, wairimu beans or rosecoco beans.
Are the legumes fully cooked?
Yes, all legumes are fully cooked and ready to reheat or add directly to your meals after thawing.
Do you add any preservatives or additives such as magadi?
No, the legumes are prepared without preservatives or unnecessary additives.
Are your products fresh or frozen?
They are cooked fresh and then frozen to preserve quality and extend shelf life.
2. Preparation & Usage
How do I prepare the legumes?
Simply reheat, sauté, or add them directly to your dish.
Do I need to cook them again?
No, only reheating is required.
Can I cook them from frozen?
Yes, they can be used directly from frozen or after thawing.
What meals can I make with them?
They can be used in stews, githeri, salads, curries, and more.
How long does preparation take?
Most meals can be ready in 15 -30 minutes. Depending on what you are making.
3. Nutrition & Health
Are legumes healthy?
Yes, legumes are rich in protein, fiber, and essential vitamins and minerals.
Are they suitable for children?
Yes, they are a nutritious option for all age groups.
Do they cause bloating?
Proper preparation helps reduce compounds that typically cause bloating. This includes soaking overnight (12 hours of soaking) and adding a whole carrot while boiling then discarding the carrot once the boiling is over.
Are they suitable for special diets?
They can be suitable for vegetarian and plant-based diets.
4. Pricing & Value
How many servings are in one pack?
This depends on portion size, but each pack typically serves two or more meals. Also depends on what you are serving them with from rice to chapati to greens etc
Is this cheaper than cooking from scratch?
Costs may vary, but time, fuel, and effort savings are significant.
Our minimum order value for orders is ksh500.
5. Ordering & Delivery
How do I place an order?
Orders can be placed through the website or other provided channels.

Where do you deliver?
We deliver all over the greater Nairobi area. Though we do have cut off points where if your address is passed the cut off point we can make special arrangements to get it to your doorstep. Past the cut off points we can engage uber courier to make the delivery the rest of the way, at the client's cost.
We charge ksh 200 for order values under ksh1000 and ksh100 for order values above ksh 1000. minimum order value is ksh500
When a client orders and gives a location, we should ask for clarification of where exactly it is, to be able to advise accordingly regarding cut off points
What are the cutoff points?
On Thika road, we deliver up to Kahawa sukari.
On Waiyaki way, we deliver up to Gitaru
On Mombasa road we deliver up to Syokimau
On Ngong Road, we deliver up to Karen
On Outer ring road, we deliver up to simba villas
How does this work?
Let's say you live in Rongai and you want a delivery made on Wednesday or Saturday. Rongai is off Langata road and given that our cut off point is at galleria mall. We would get to galleria mall with the delivery and then we would dispatch the order the rest of the way via uber courier at the client's cost.
On a non delivery day, say Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday, we would dispatch with uber courier from one of our locations in Nairobi, either from Waiyaki way or Mombasa road.
How long does delivery take?
We mainly deliver on Wednesday and Saturday. On other days we can use uber courier to make an express delivery, at the client's cost.
What payment methods are accepted?
Available payment options are Cash or M-pesa or Airtel money.
6. Storage & Shelf Life
How should I store the products?
Keep frozen until ready to use. If for example, you don't want to use the whole pack at a go, do NOT thaw out the whole pack. Just break off what you need and put the rest back in the freezer. This way, the shelf life is maintained at can go up to 6 months or more.
How long do they last?
They can last more than six months when stored properly in a freezer.
Can I refrigerate instead of freezing?
Yes, but they should be consumed within two days.
Can I refreeze after thawing?
It is not recommended.
7. We don't have green peas aka Minji at the moment on our list of options.
We don't have githeri as a pack at the moment. We realized clients have specific ways and ratios they like their githeri, from the maize to beans ratio to the type of beans used. However we do have maize and most clients prefer to buy the maize separate and the beans of there choice either Wairimu beans, nyayo beans, rose coco beans , yellow beans or mbaazi.
