The Macallan A Night On Earth
Telling the story of Scotland’s world-famous Hogmanay festivities celebrated annually on 31st December, A Night on Earth in Scotland captures the universal joy of celebrating the change of year. This seasonal release is a collaboration with acclaimed Japanese-French illustrator Erica Dorn, whose artwork has featured in director Wes Anderson’s films. The single malt is presented in unique packaging to provide a special unboxing experience and Dorn’s playful abstract illustrations are inspired by the historic fire rituals dominant in New Year celebrations around the world. Nose: Light, slightly floral and fragrant. Notes of charred oak and caramel along with rose water and jasmine. Also gentle vanilla pods, some candied orange peels and quinces. Finally a whiff of honey and lemon zest. Taste: Kudos for the slightly creamy mouthfeel (relative to the low abv). Otherwise nothing too exciting. Arrives on whispers of vanilla, boiled sweets and breakfast cereals. Also cloves, nutmeg and coconut shavings, along with orange pith. Finish: Short to medium. The Macallan Triple Cask Matured 12 Years Old forms part of our Triple Cask Matured range; a series of single malt whiskies crafted in a triple cask combination of European and American sherry seasoned oak casks and American ex-bourbon oak casks. This complex combination of oak casks delivers an extraordinarily smooth and delicate character, full of citrus fruits, vanilla and fresh oak. Nose: Gingerbread, vanilla essence, wafts of buttered toast and clotted-cream-topped scones. Palate: Raisins, sultanas and stem ginger. Citrus begins to develop on the palate, with a touch of dark chocolate. Finish: Subtle cedar and honey linger on the palate. Size: 700ml ABV: 40%

Sherry seasoned American oak adds delicate vanilla to the subtle spice of European oak, delivering a whisky with a sweeter, warmer taste and character. Nose: The Macallan 18 has distinctly dried fruit, ginger and toffee on the nose. Rich orange with hints of clove and nutmeg. Balvenie 12 Doublewood
DoubleWood 12 was launched in 1993, using a process designed by our Malt Master David Stewart in 1982, now commonly known as 'wood finishing'.To make The Balvenie DoubleWood, David Stewart MBE takes whisky that has spent at least 12 years in traditional whisky casks, American Oak ex-bourbon barrels and hogsheads, and moves it to Spanish oak ex-Oloroso sherry casks for an additional nine months.The whisky is then transferred to large oak vessels called “tuns” for 3-4 months to allow the whiskies from individual casks to “marry”.The Balvenie DoubleWood single malt whisky gains its distinctive character from being matured in two different wood types. Each stage lends different qualities to the resulting single malt whisky.The traditional casks soften and add delicate character, the sherry wood brings depth and fullness of flavour and the final few months in our tuns allow the whiskies to marry harmoniously. Balvenie 14 Caribbean Cask
The Balvenie Caribbean Cask 14 year old single malt whisky has been matured in traditional oak whisky casks for 14 years, and then ‘finished’ in casks that previously held Caribbean rum.To create the ideal finish Malt Master David C. Stewart MBE filled American oak casks with his own blend of select West Indian rums.When he judged the casks to be ready, the rum was replaced with the 14 year old spirit and the wood was put to work adding the final touches.The result is an exceptional single malt whisky with the traditional smooth, honeyed character of The Balvenie married with notes of toffee and a hint of fruit, with a warm, lingering finish. The Balvenie Madeira Cask is a lively and summery single malt finished in casks previously held sweet Madeira wine. In historic times, ships set sail filled with casks of Madeira wine around the New World. Throughout their journey, casks were exposed to the heat of the sun, naturally sweetening the wine it held. Malt Master David C. Stewart has enjoyed times exploring the Madeira region and wines they produce, inspiring his experimentation of the cask type for finishing. Colour: Golden. Nose: Overflowing flavours of blackcurrants and brambles slowly layered with gingery-syrup and delicate spice. Balvenie 18 Pedro Ximenez Cask
The Balvenie Pedro Ximénez Cask is a complex and richly distinct single malt which has been finished in casks that previously held Pedro Ximénez sherry. Pedro Ximénez is a white Spanish wine grape variety grown in several Spanish wine regions. The heat from the sun ripens the vines and produces a wine of intense, dessert-like sweetness. Colour: Golden. Nose: A medley of flavours from raisins and bursting currants that intertwine with oak and subtle clove whilst concealing a smooth sweet lavender. Taste: A modern classic fruit fusion of tart grape skin, mandarin and fig that flows together with vibrant oak to coat the mouth with a delicate oil and honeyed sweetness. NO GIFT BOX 100th Anniversary Version Released in Spring 2014, this is one of two Distiller's Reserve single malt whiskies from Suntory in Japan. This single malt from the Yamazaki distillery is jam-packed with superb red berry notes, gained from the whisky being matured in Bordeaux wine casks and Sherry casks. It also features malt matured in Mizunara casks, adding subtle fragrant oak notes. Nose: Classic Yamazaki strawberries and dried fruits with floral notes coming from the Mizunara cask whisky. Fragrant sandalwood and maybe coconut. Certainly a whisky where you could get lost in its nose! Palate: The dried berries remain lively on the palate (it even develops some raspberry notes along the way), but they're dialled back a bit to make room for light oak, white peach and a small amount of spice. Kavalan Solist ex-Bourbon is a delightfully complex, multi-dimensional single malt whisky, with vanilla, fruit and coconut highlights. Matured in hand-selected fresh American ex-Bourbon casks, the whisky is available at cask strength and non chill-filtered, retaining the fuller flavour of a natural single malt whisky. Nose: Lush tropical fruits, floral frangipani, blooming Jasmine mist and young coconut cream . Palate: Texture is rich, smooth and silky. Notes of vanilla and oak. Matured in top quality special edition Oloroso sherry casks, Kavalan Solist Oloroso Sherry is bottled at the distillery, without any colouring or chill-filtration. It is a naturally smooth and rich whisky with a complex character. Clean and complex with multiple layers of dried fruit, nuttiness and spices, it has some marzipan and vanilla touches to it as well. Nose: Complex, clean, and rich. Marked by notes of dried fruits, nuts, and spices, it also reveals hints of vanilla and marzipan.
