Dry laundry without a bulky rack taking up floor space. This Japanese clothesline mounts to the wall and pulls out to a hook plate on the opposite wall, giving you 4.2m of hanging line whenever you need it, then the line retracts and disappears into its slim housing once the washing is done.
The line locks in place when extended, so shirts and towels stay at a steady height while they dry, and it releases with a light pull when you are finished. With a 20kg maximum load it takes a full wash of everyday laundry: around 5 shirts, 5 T-shirts, 3 blazers, 2 pairs of jeans, 3 bath towels, and 2 short skirts hang together at roughly 20kg after spin-drying.
Because the line stores off the floor, it suits bathrooms, laundry rooms, utility areas, and apartments where a standing rack would be in the way. The wall-mounted body and matching hook plate stay discreet and out of sight between uses.
Installation needs a wood or concrete wall plus an electric drill and expansion screws. Fit the main body at least 1.7m above the ground, mount the hook plate on the opposite wall, then pull the line across. For an angled run the line can be shortened: when the front wall width is under 2m, use up to half the maximum adjustable span, and when the front width is 2m or more, the span adjusts by up to 1m. Retract the line after each use, and never hang more than 20kg or use it for anything other than drying laundry.
