The Purple Queen Male Guppy (Poecilia reticulata) is a popular, selectively bred strain of freshwater guppy celebrated for its striking violet hue, shimmering scales, and flowing, flamboyant fins. This hardy, highly active variant features distinct red, dark, or iridescent accents along its body and tail, making it a vibrant addition to community tanks.

🐟 Care and Tank Requirements

Purple Queen Guppies are peaceful, beginner-friendly, and adapt easily to a variety of setups.
• Minimum Tank Size: 40 litres (10 gallons).
• Water Temperature: 22°C to 28°C.
• pH Range: 7.0 to 8.0.
• Size: Males typically grow to about 3.5 to 6 cm (1.5 to 2.5 inches).
• Tank Setup: They appreciate stable water quality, low-to-moderate water flow, open swimming space, and plenty of live plants or driftwood to explore. A secure aquarium lid is highly recommended as they are curious and known to jump.

⚖️ Diet and Social Behavior

• Diet: As omnivores, they thrive on high-quality tropical flakes, micro pellets, and occasional live or frozen treats like brine shrimp, bloodworms, or daphnia.
• Social Mix: They get along well with other peaceful community fish like small tetras, rasboras, corydoras, and mollies. Avoid housing them with fin-nippers (like certain barbs) that might damage their delicate fins.
• Breeding Ratio: If keeping them with females, maintain a ratio of at least 2 females to every 1 male so the females aren't overly stressed by the males' continuous mating behavior.
