They are omnivorous scavengers that help consume leftover food particles. Because they have tiny mouths, they must be fed small items like high-quality micro pellets, sinking wafers, crushed flakes, and live or frozen daphnia and baby brine shrimp.
Tank Mate CompatibilityBecause they are exceptionally timid and tiny, they should only be housed with equally gentle tank mates. They are highly compatible with Neocaridina shrimp, snails, and micro-fish like chili rasboras or neon tetras. Avoid large, aggressive, or boisterous fish (like cichlids or tiger barbs) that can easily swallow them or outcompete them for food.
