How to Use AxoTonic
Calculate Tank Volume: Determine your aquarium volume in litres using the formula:
Length x Width x Depth in cm / 1000, or utilize the NT Labs Dosage Calculator.
Test Existing Hardness: Test your current General Hardness (GH) levels using an appropriate kit, like the NT Labs Aquarium Lab Multi Test Kit, as your required dosage rate depends on your base water hardness.
Prep the Mix: Always shake the bag thoroughly before using to ensure the salts are evenly mixed.
Apply to the Aquarium:
New Setups (No Axolotl Present): Fill the tank with water and add the full calculated dose directly.
Established Tanks (With Axolotl): To prevent osmotic stress, add the required dose slowly over a period of 5 days.
Water Changes: Only calculate and add a dose for the volume of the new water being added to the tank, not the entire aquarium volume.
