The NT Labs Aquarium Plastic Plant Cleaner is a specialized two-part cleaning treatment designed to effortlessly remove stubborn algae and organic deposits from artificial plants and non-porous tank decorations. Each retail box contains 5 fizzing cleaning tablets and a 10ml bottle of Neutraliser Solution, providing enough material for five separate deep-clean applications.
📋 Product Overview
Target Decor: Specifically formulated for plastic plants, silk plants, and non-porous resin ornaments.
Safety Warning: Do not use on natural wood, real stone, or live plants, as the oxidising cleaning solution can severely damage or deteriorate porous, organic materials.
Core Benefit: Eliminates the need for tedious manual scrubbing or risky, unmeasured household bleach solutions.
🛠️ Step-by-Step Instructions
The cleaning process requires a separate container and must be completed entirely outside of your active fish tank:
Remove and Submerge: Take the dirty plastic plants or ornaments out of your aquarium. Place them into a clean plastic bucket filled with roughly 10 litres of water.
The Overnight Soak: Drop one cleaning tablet into the bucket. Allow the tablet to completely fizz, dissolve, and lift away organic grime by leaving it to soak overnight (or for a minimum of 8 hours).
Drain and Rinse: Pour away the dirty cleaning solution and thoroughly rinse the decor under running freshwater.
Neutralise: Refill the bucket with 10 litres of fresh water and add the Neutraliser Solution. Let the ornaments soak in this mixture for 15 minutes to completely eliminate any remaining chemical residues.
Return to Tank: Your sparkling clean, residue-free decorations are now perfectly safe to be placed back into your aquarium.
💡 User Tips & Feedback
Potential Fading: Reviews from online hobbyists on platforms like Amazon note that while the formula is highly effective at destroying algae, very bright or cheaply painted neon plastic plants might suffer slight color fading over multiple uses.
Liquid Disparity: Some users report that the cleaning tablets are occasionally exhausted before the liquid neutraliser bottle is completely empty.
