NT Labs Anti-Fluke & Wormer is a highly effective medication specifically formulated to treat internal parasitic worms and external flukes (skin and gill parasites) in aquarium fish. It relies on the active ingredient flubendazole (1000 mg/100 mL), which targets the nervous system of parasites while remaining exceptionally gentle on your fish.
Key Identification Symptoms
You should use this treatment if your fish exhibit any of the following warning signs:
Wasted appearance: Fish look noticeably thin or "pinched/sucked-in" along the belly despite eating aggressively (a classic sign of intestinal worms, especially common in Discus and Angelfish).
Physical irritation: Fish scratch, flick, or rub themselves frantically against substrate or tank decorations (flashing).
Respiratory distress: Laboured breathing, rapid gill movements, or gasping for air near the water surface.
Behavioral shifts: Lethargy, clamped fins, or passing clear, stringy faeces.
Step-by-Step Instructions for Use
Prepare the Tank Environment
Maximize aeration: Turn your air pumps up to maximum or add extra air stones, as the medication reduces dissolved oxygen levels.
Remove chemical media: Take out activated carbon, purigen, or phosphate removers from your filters.
Disable specialized equipment: Turn off UV sterilizers and ozone generators. If treating a marine system, turn off the protein skimmer for at least two hours after adding the medication.
Dose the Medication
Vigorously shake the bottle for at least 30 seconds to mix the liquid suspension.
Using the provided pipette, measure the correct dosage according to your exact tank volume and add it slowly into the water.
Post-Treatment Monitoring
Cloudy Water: If your aquarium water turns cloudy, it is an occasional side effect. Perform a 50% water change at a time until the water clears up completely.
Repeat Dosing: For stubborn infestations, you can safely repeat the process once a week for up to 4 consecutive doses.
