The L34 Medusa Pleco (Ancistrus ranunculus) is a distinct, small-to-medium (approx. 13cm) armored catfish native to the Rio Xingu in Brazil. Males are distinguished by extensive, long, branched, bush-like tentacles covering the head, which are much more prominent than in females. They are nocturnal, territorial omnivores requiring high oxygen, strong flow, and plenty of hiding.
