WHO IS LUCA?

I'm Luca. Half Italian, Half South-African. 25, Cape Town-based, and the one person behind Da Luca.

Ive been wanting to launch this solution for a long time and its finally coming in July 2026.

For 18 months I worked alongside my father supplying Cape Town's finest Italian restaurants, hotels and chefs with premium imported produce. And I got obsessed with the idea that more people deserved access to it, not just chefs with wholesale accounts. I want to share the products and service I have in store, for any one who wants to enjoy it.

So I backed myself, and Da Luca was born.

The name means exactly what it says — From Luca.

Part of what keeps me going? I'm saving for a Camino pilgrimage across Italy. Every order brings that a little closer. So when you order — genuinely, big thank you.

HOW DOES DA LUCA WORK?

It's simpler than you'd think:

Browse the range, build your cart of what you need that I have.

2.
Place your order
Minimum R400. Place it whenever suits — I allow 1–3 days’ lead time so I can serve it well.

3. I message you directly on WhatsApp.
I confirm your order - what can I get you by when.
We sort the steps together for delivery, payment, and any special requests — personally. You deal with me, not a system.

4. I'll deliver or arrange collection for you!
Tuesday to Saturday, we can work it out together.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

When do you deliver?
Tuesday to Saturday. I'll deliver when it suits both of us. It will rarely be same day, so have some patience and lets work it out together.

How do I pay?
EFT or cash on delivery — we sort it out over WhatsApp when I confirm your order.

Is there a minimum order?
Yes, there's a small minimum to make delivery worthwhile.

What if something is out of stock?
I'll let you know personally and suggest the best alternative. No automated "sorry, unavailable" — you'll hear from me directly.

Can I customise my order or request something specific?
Absolutely — that's kind of the point. Message me on WhatsApp and we'll figure it out.

Why should I buy from you instead of a supermarket?
You're not buying from a shelf. You're buying from a person who chose every product on purpose, and will be from Da Luca... That's a different thing entirely.

Can I collect my order instead of paying for delivery?
Yes! Free collections available only at coordinated collections across several strategic hub points in certain areas I travel through regularly. Just contact via WhatsApp to arrange a convenient meetup spot. (cant always ensure safety of fridge/frozen products)
⚠️ Note on Collections: For all collection point drop-offs, EFT payment must be completed and cleared upfront before we dispatch the stock to the hub.

What payment methods do you accept?
Once your order is lined up and we are ready to delivery we will verify your preferred payment method:

Secure EFT: Routed straight to the FNB account I made specifically for this project.

Cash in rands: Collected directly upon face-to-face handover from myself or a friend.

Physical Euros (€): I enthusiastically accept cash Euros! If Luca or a friend of his is personally delivering to you, you are welcome to pay in Euro notes or coins (please arrange this with us via text beforehand).

Why on earth do you accept physical Euros in Cape Town?
Think of it as the ultimate practical travel hack! By collecting physical Euros directly from local foodies, I completely bypass bank exchange rates, hidden financial fees, and double conversions. Every Euro note you hand over goes straight into my secure holding envelope (I call it my piggybank for the Camino) dedicated to funding my trains, mountain shelters, and local espressos along the Italian Camino.
