Why this bike?
The ADV 8.6 is Boardman’s entry-level gravel/adventure machine, but it shares the same triple-butted X7-alloy frame and tapered carbon fork found on the pricier 8-series models. That means a stable, confidence-inspiring ride on loose surfaces yet plenty of zip on the tarmac. Full mudguard and rack mounts, plus tubeless-ready wheels, make it equally at home commuting, bike-packing or chasing KOMs on rough back-roads.

Ride-quality highlights
Cycling Weekly called the ADV 8.6 “bags of fun… a comfortable, stable all-rounder that covers a lot of bases.” Expect reassuring geometry off-road and lively acceleration on the flats; the 48/32 T chainset paired with an 11-34 T cassette gives a sub-1:1 bailout gear for steep gravel climbs.
