Open Mic

To ensure a smooth and enjoyable Open Mic experience for all participants and attendees, please adhere to the following regulations:

1. ELIGIBILITY TO PERFORM

• The Open Mic session is open to individuals of all ages and skill levels.
• Performers must register in advance by signing up at the designated registration booth or online prior to the event. Limited slots will be available, and registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
• Performers are limited to one performance slot unless additional time becomes available at the discretion of the organizers.

2. PERFORMANCE DURATION

• Each performer is allowed a maximum of 5 minutes on stage. This includes setup and breakdown time.
• Performers exceeding their time limit will be respectfully asked to conclude their performance to ensure fairness and efficiency for all participants.
• In the case of group performances, the group will share the same time limit of 5 minutes.

3. TYPES OF PERFORMANCES ALLOWED

• The Open Mic is open to a variety of performances, including but not limited to:
o Music (acoustic, instrumental, vocal)
o Poetry and spoken word
o Comedy (family friendly)
o Dance (small, solo routines)
o Other creative expressions (as approved by the organizers)
• Performances must be appropriate for all audiences. Content that is offensive, explicit, or discriminatory (including language, themes, or actions) will not be tolerated and may result in the performer being asked to leave the stage immediately.

4. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS AND EQUIPMENT

• The event organizers will provide basic sound equipment, including microphones and speakers.
• No electricity is provided for individual instruments or additional equipment. Performers should plan to use acoustic instruments or bring battery powered equipment.
• Performers are responsible for bringing their own instruments, props, or performance materials. Any specialized equipment beyond what is provided must be self-sufficient (e.g., acoustic guitars, small amps).

5. ARRIVAL AND CHECK-IN

• All performers must arrive and check in at least 30 minutes before their scheduled slot. Failure to check in on time may result in forfeiting the slot.
• Once checked in, performers will be given their approximate performance time. Please stay near the Open Mic area to avoid missing your turn.

6. PERFORMANCE CONDUCT

• Performers are expected to behave respectfully toward other participants, event staff, and the audience. Disruptive or inappropriate behaviour, including using offensive language or engaging in unsafe activities on stage, will result in immediate removal from the event.
• Performers should be mindful of the time and adhere to the stage manager’s instructions to ensure the schedule runs smoothly.

7. STAGE SETUP AND TRANSITIONS

• To keep the event on schedule, performers must keep their setup and breakdown time within the 5-minute limit.
• Please cooperate with event staff during stage transitions to ensure minimal disruption for the next performer.

8. RECORDING AND PHOTOGRAPHY

• By participating in the Open Mic, performers acknowledge that the event may be recorded or photographed for promotional purposes by the event organizers.
• Performers agree to allow the use of any photographs or videos taken during their performance for future marketing or promotional use.

9. CANCELLATIONS AND NO SHOWS

• If a performer is unable to make their scheduled time, they must notify the event staff as soon as possible.
• No Shows may result in disqualification from future Open Mic sessions at this or other events hosted by the organizers.

10. ORGANIZER’S RIGHTS

• The event organizers reserve the right to adjust the Open Mic schedule based on time constraints, equipment issues, or other unforeseen circumstances.
• The organizers also retain the right to deny stage time to any performer who does not comply with these regulations or whose performance is deemed inappropriate for the event.


By participating in the Open Mic session, all performers agree to these regulations and understand that failure to comply may result in disqualification or removal from the stage.
