Embark on a mini culinary journey with our 算盘子 Yam Abacus Seeds, a traditional Hakka dish made from yam and tapioca flour. Each abacus seed is meticulously hand-kneaded and rolled to achieve the perfect chewy texture. The accompanying stir-fried ingredients feature a harmonious blend of minced pork, shiitake mushrooms, dried shrimp, dried cuttlefish, and crispy shallots.
Once prepared, the abacus seeds and stir-fried ingredients are promptly vacuum-packed and frozen separately. Store in the freezer and enjoy within a month for the best taste experience.
Preparing these savoury bites is as easy as can be! Simply thaw them in your chiller (avoid refreezing once defrosted). Boil the abacus seeds in water for 3-5 minutes until they are heated throughout. Meanwhile, fry an egg omelette, chop it into small pieces, and set it aside. In the same pan or wok, lightly sauté the stir-fried ingredients, add the boiled abacus seeds and chopped egg, and mix thoroughly. Finish with a garnish of chopped spring onions, and your dish is ready to serve. (Note: egg and spring onions are not included in the set.)
Perfect for both everyday snacks and special gatherings, our Yam Abacus Seeds offer a convenient yet authentic taste of tradition. For the recipe set, each 200g pack of abacus seeds is paired with 90g of stir-fried ingredients, designed to serve 2 to 3 people.
