Muskmelon, also widely known as cantaloupe or kharbuja, is a refreshing, round-to-oblong summer fruit belonging to the gourd family. It features a thick, tan, and net-like webbed rind (or a smooth, ribbed skin depending on the variety) that encloses a dense, juicy flesh ranging in color from soft orange to pale green. It surrounds a central hollow cavity packed with flat, cream-colored seeds and offers a tender, melting texture and a deeply sweet, musky, and aromatic flavor.
