Okumidori (Shiga, Japan)
Hits the palate with bold nori-like umami. Initial mild bitterness that โdissolvesโ into sweetness with little to no vegetal taste and astringency. Malty, very smooth finish.
Tsuyuhikari (Shiga, Japan)
Starts with pleasant mild but distinct nori-umami, finishes with hints of floral notes. Mellow and malty aftertaste.
Ujihikari (Kyoto, Japan)
Very rare and premium cultivar. Smoky smell and taste, pleasant chocolaty bitterness that turns into smooth astringency. Finishes off with a mellow, malty, slightly vegetal taste and mouth feel. Very enjoyable, for matcha connoisseur looking for something distinct.
