Japan Wild Meat Sea Seal Curry

Curry is one of the most popular dishes in Japan (certainly outshines some of the "Japanese standards" like sushi or tempura)... but seal? In the northern part of Japan, on the island of Hokkaido and other places where the indigenous people Ainu live, seal meat has been eaten for centuries. Some would say it is an acquired taste but others would also say the same for sashimi, right?

The Hokkaido Canned Seal Meat comes straight from Sapporo, containing spotted seal meat dressed in spicy curry sauce. The flavor is strong and, well, fishy (this is a sea animal after all) but it certainly goes well with the burn of the curry. Curry is usually served with regular rice in Japan so we recommend trying it this way first.
