Alarid Eye Drop

Alarid is an ophthalmic solution containing ketotifen as its active ingredient. It is primarily used to treat allergic conjunctivitis, which presents with symptoms such as itchy, watery, red, and swollen eyes.

Dosage Form:
- Strength: 0.025% ketotifen
- Packaging: Available in 5 ml sterile solution bottles.

Indications
Alarid eye drops are indicated for:
- Allergic Conjunctivitis: Relief from signs and symptoms including itching, redness, and swelling of the eyes and eyelids.
- Other Conditions: Effective for vernal kerato-conjunctivitis, blepharitis, blepharo-conjunctivitis, and giant papillary conjunctivitis.

Dosage
The recommended dosage for adults and children aged 3 years and older is:
- One drop in the affected eye(s) twice daily, every 8 to 12 hours, not exceeding two applications per day.

Warnings and Precautions
- Pregnant Women: Caution should be exercised when prescribing to pregnant women due to limited data on safety.
- Children Under 3 Years: Consult a healthcare provider before use.

Drug Interactions
If used with other eye medications, there should be an interval of at least 5 minutes between applications to avoid dilution or interference.

Storage Conditions
Store Alarid eye drops in a cool and dry place, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children. Do not touch the dropper tip to any surface to prevent contamination. Discard any unused solution after 30 days from the first opening.
