Chili is a stew of Mexican origin (where it's known as chili con carne), adapted in a Texmex style and widely popular across the US. Chili will almost always include: peppers, protein, beans, and an assortment of spices like cumin, chili, and paprika. The types of meat and other ingredients used vary based on geographic and personal tastes, and is widely cooked at cook-offs (cooking competitions) in the US!
