String Hopper

String Hopper

String hoppers, also known as "idiyappam" or "sevai," are a popular and delightful culinary creation that hails from South India and Sri Lanka. These delicate and visually appealing dishes are a testament to the rich and diverse culinary heritage of the region. String hoppers are made from simple and humble ingredients; they are essentially thin, thread-like noodles, traditionally made by pressing a rice flour and water mixture through a sieve or special mold to create small, circular disks. These disks are then arranged into a nest-like pattern, resembling a delicate, lacy mat.
