Black kale is botanically classified as Brassica oleracea and may also be commonly referred to as Lacinato kale, Dinosaur kale, Tuscan kale, Italian Black Cabbage or Cavalo Nero.

Sow Brassica oleracea 'Black Tuscany' in modules, and transplant 6-8 weeks later, planting them firmly together in moist but well-drained soil, in full sun to partial shade. Weed and water well until well established.

Is kale easy to grow? It is very easy to grow kale. It's a tolerant plant that can survive cold temperatures and shady conditions – just three hours of sunshine is enough although it grows well in full sun to light shade in a well-drained soil.
