Red Stripe is a pale amber lager beer that is known for its full body, smooth post-palate sensation, and low butterscotch flavor. It has a light straw color, with fewer bubbles than other lagers, and a white head with medium density. The beer has a grainy sweet aroma with a hint of sweet apples, and a generally nondescript sweetness with a healthy carbonation sting on the tongue. Some hops peek through around the middle of the drink, then quickly scuttle away as a lingering sweetness hangs in the mouth.
