Founded in Moscow in 1864, this vodka became quite popular among Russian tsars. In the year 1894, over a thousand bottles were sent to the Winter Palace. As a result, the title "Purveyors to the Imperial Russian Court" was bestowed upon them. Many international accolades have been bestowed upon the brand. The authority to display the Russian state's coat of arms on bottles and labels was granted four times by the Russian government, hence the four little emblems in the logo. The New York Times awarded the brand the finest vodka in January 2005 after it beat off twenty other vodka brands from around the world.
