Because of it’s relative size and less complex structure, DNSP-11 may provide specific advantages over larger neurotrophic molecules used to target neurodegenerative diseases including: ease of synthesis , long-term storage , improved biodistribution/lack of heparin binding and potential for increased bioavailabilty and/or modification lending to alternative (less invasive) delivery routes. These possibilities merit further investigation to confirm the potential of DNSP-11 to reach target sites and confer therapeutic benefit.
