The Trench Town Reading Center Project is a comprehensive collaborative community education project. Community partners include the Trench Town Development Association, Trench Town Culture Yard, Jah Rastafari Royal Judah Coptic Church, ZenVerse Wellness Group, Trench Town Polytechnic College, and the Haile Selassie High School.
We are working to re-open the Trench Town Reading Center as a hub for education, entrepreneurship, agriculture, and youth development. This initiative is designed to serve not only the student and residents of Trench Town but also students across the island via the planting of school and community gardens.
As part of the community economic development and sustainability plan Dr. Stephanie Ardrey, ZenVerse Wellness Group, will be hosting a Community Planning Conference both in person at the Trench Town Polytechnic College and virtually via the Haile Selassie I MetaVersity. The virtual Conference will begin on May 9, 2025 to begin planning for the community clean up and launch of the Trench Town Sunday Farmers Market on June 1, 2025.
During the Community Planning Conference will be held on May 23-May 25, 2025 at the Trench Town Polytechnic College, 10 start up businesses will be selected for funding.
We are inviting investors, teachers, business leaders in Africa and the diaspora to participate in the re-development of Trench Town by:
Promoting your business or services at the Farmers Market or via the Take App Platform- a digital marketplace supporting bank transfers, credit card, Lumi, and crypto currencies.
Sponsoring items for the Reading Center, and 4H Clubites through the Take App Link.
Supporting the Jah Rastafari Royal Judah Coptic Church’s national, and international outreach by joining the delegation of Farmers who will to develop school gardens across the island, across the Caribbean, and throughout the continent of Kush/Ethiopia.
This project offers a powerful opportunity for sustainable impact. By investing in the re-opening of the Trench Town Reading Center you are not only empowering a community but also honoring the legacy of Jamaican resilience and innovation.
I welcome the opportunity to speak with you directly to explore partnership possibilities.
Please join the Trench Town Planning What’s App group for updates.
