Bakkwa cookies were originally made in 2016 as a thank you gift for someone I'd just got to know. I knew he liked bakkwa, and I figured a cookie might be something different. Yes, there is actual BBQ pork in this cookie, not just on top!
Some years later, we're happily married and this is the bestseller out of everything I make for Lunar New Year. I guess the thank you gift worked out just fine!
