INZIGA — THE HANDMADE CLAY BURNER
Inziga takes its name from the Kinyarwanda word for fire — the small, steady kind that warms a room rather than commands it. This burner was shaped by hand in Kigali by a Rwandan woman artisan, fired matte black from local clay, and finished with natural twine. No two pieces are identical. It was made to hold our essential oil blend and to do it beautifully.
— Made by hand. Lit with intention. —
The object
Matte black unglazed clay, low and stable, with small circular openings cut into the body that let the tea light breathe and the warmth move evenly through the room. A wide upper dish holds water and oil. The form is unhurried the kind of object that looks right wherever you place it.
Made in Kigali
Each burner is handmade by a woman artisan in Kigali using local clay and traditional shaping methods. The slight variations in texture and finish from piece to piece are not imperfections they are the mark of something made by hand.
How to use with our scent blends
Place a tea light inside the base and light it. Fill the upper dish three-quarters with water. Add 2–5 drops of Imisozi Igihumbi for an evening of calm and natural insect protection, or 2–5 drops of Kigali Ngali before guests arrive for a warm, energizing room. The candle releases the blend steadily for hours. Replenish the water as it evaporates
*Never let the dish run dry.
*Never leave a lit candle unattended.
