Heavy and medium weight ducks typically are raised by Melwood for meat production. The main breeds raised and available for our customers are the Pekin and the Muscovy. These breeds have higher vitamin content than chicken and high amounts of iron and copper as well lower amounts of cholesterol and sodium. Duck meat is a slightly healthier option for this reason.
