Kent no Mukashi was created to commemorate the 1200th anniversary of the founding of Kyoto. The 1200th anniversary of the founding of the capital was held in Kyoto in 1994. Shrine festivals related to Yasaka Shrine from all over the country gathered in Kyoto, and it was a great success.
