Live mud crabs are highly perishable and can die quickly—even during the journey home from the market. Once a crab is dead, it is no longer safe to eat.
To ensure the highest level of freshness and safety, we cut and clean your crab while it’s still alive. This process not only preserves the crab’s quality but also allows us to thoroughly inspect the meat. A crab might look perfect on the outside, but once opened, it could be watery or have internal issues. By preparing the crab on-site, we can immediately identify and replace any that don’t meet our high standards.
Our commitment to quality means we can only guarantee freshness if we handle the preparation ourselves. We cut, clean, and chill your crab on the day of collection to ensure it reaches you at its peak. When you receive your crab, all you need to do is give it a quick rinse, and it’s ready for cooking—no additional preparation needed.
