Indications:
Primarily used in the treatment of female infertility due to anovulation. In bodybuilding and athletic contexts, it is commonly utilized for post-cycle therapy (PCT) to help restore natural testosterone production after anabolic steroid use.
Administration:
Typically taken orally, with a common dosage of 50 to 150 mg per day, depending on the condition being treated. For post-cycle therapy, doses are often around 50 mg per day for 4 to 6 weeks.
Effects:
Functions as a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM), stimulating the pituitary gland to release luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH). This can lead to increased endogenous testosterone production, helping to restore hormonal balance after steroid cycles.
Side Effects:
Potential side effects may include hot flashes, mood swings, nausea, and headaches. Rarely, it can lead to ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) in women. Monitoring during use is advisable.
Contraindications:
