What is Health Remits Zimbabwe?

It is a UK based platform under the company LC Michaels Ltd to facilitate access to Healthcare services of people based in Zimbabwe via support from their loved ones abroad.

How does the service work?

Health Remits Zimbabwe has contracted a Premium Health Services Provider in Zimbabwe to coordinate care of the loved ones whose healthcare is being sponsored by those in the Diaspora.

STEPS
1. Select the desired care package
2. Before making payment input the reference which is Initials and surname of the patient.
3.Make payment
4. Send proof of payment on the Health Remits Zimbabwe WhatsApp line
5. Arrangements for the appointment will proceed from there.

Does the patient stop seeing their regular doctor?

No. The purpose of the program is to complement treatments from their doctor mainly through lifestyle modifications.

How often does the patient get to see the doctor?

The programs are designed so that the patient has one monthly consultation with the doctor, however under the Medical Consultation and Wellness program the patient can be seen weekly by the doctor.

Is it possible to combine various programs?
Yes indeed, this can be brought to the attention of the doctor on initial evaluation and feasibility assessed.

How are emergencies & hospital admissions handled?

These are handled by the patient's regular doctor so that there is no disruption in the original treatment formulated by the patient's regular doctor


Do the program cover costs of prescription medication and devices?

No. The actual aim of the program is to reduce the number of medicines the patient is taking through the use of lifestyle interventions, using medicines when it's absolutely necessary.
