What actually happens
We slow the body down first. A few minutes of breath, a moment of real silence, because most of us haven't sat still in months.
Then we clear the noise. A short warm-up write, then a longer stretch where the internal editor, the voice that tells you you're not doing it right, gets told to sit down. This is where most men are surprised by what shows up on the page.
From there we name what's actually present. Not "I'm stressed," the real word underneath it. Anger. Shame. Grief you never gave a name to. Something you're actually glad about that you haven't let yourself feel.
Then we get quiet and listen. To your conscience. To the deeper current some of you call God and some of you just call knowing. We won't tell you what that voice should sound like. We'll give you the silence to hear it.
And we end with one action. Not a life overhaul. One real thing you carry back into your week.
Small on purpose
This isn't a hundred-person workshop where you write and nobody ever sees it. It's 7 men. Small enough that when we open the floor, most guys end up reading a line or two out loud, not because they're told to, but because something true in a small room has a way of wanting to be heard. No pressure. No script. Just what tends to happen when honest men sit close together.
Why this, why now
Most men in this community didn't have anyone hand them a father, a mentor, or an older brother who showed them how to sit with themselves honestly. You built yourself. You figured it out alone. And somewhere in that self-made grind, the noise just kept getting louder with nobody showing you where to put it.
This is where it goes. On the page, out loud if you're willing, in a room of 7 men doing the exact same thing.
