Bloody Mary Shrimp (Neocaridina davidi) are a striking variety of freshwater shrimp known for their deep, rich red coloration, which can range from bright red to a darker, almost maroon hue. They typically grow to about 1.5 inches (4 cm) and are popular in aquariums for their vibrant appearance. These shrimp are peaceful and social, often kept in groups, and are excellent algae eaters, feeding on biofilm, detritus, and leftover food to help keep the tank clean. Bloody Mary Shrimp thrive in slightly acidic to neutral water and prefer a well-planted environment with hiding spots.
