Freshwater Snowball Shrimp (Caridina logemanni) are small, peaceful shrimp known for their unique appearance, with a translucent body and white, snowball-like markings that give them their name. Typically growing to around 1.5 inches (4 cm), these shrimp are prized in aquariums for their delicate beauty and calm nature. Snowball Shrimp are excellent algae eaters, feeding on biofilm, detritus, and leftover food, which helps maintain clean tank conditions. They thrive in slightly acidic to neutral water and prefer a well-planted tank with plenty of hiding spots. These shrimp are best kept in stable water conditions and with other non-aggressive species.
