The Coffee

Viva La Java is the coffee that shows us how excellence in farming brings life into a cup. Java is an Arabica varietal which mutated on the island of Java, Indonesia. After centuries of cultivation and mutation, it’s found its way to Colombia. After that, it’s all credits to our friends in Finca La Julia, who did their best in producing this lot.

The Farm

Finca La Julia, a 20+ year operation in the Trujillo Mountains Cauca Valley, is Rainforest Alliance certified and sits at 1450-1700m elevation. The misty microclimate creates a significant day-night temperature difference, enhancing the coffee's sweetness and fruity notes.

Their process involves hand-picking only fully ripe cherries, storing them in Ecotact bags for 12+ hours, then naturally drying them in the shade for 25 days.

The Taste
