100% MADE IN SOMALILAND
Bright and lively, just like its origin.
We've shown this coffee to several people and they couldn't believe that Somaliland CAN PRODUCE its own coffee! Yet, we all agree that this coffee smells good and tastes good, showing that coffee has a big potential to grow in Somaliland.
We received this coffee as dried cherries from the farm's owner, Mohamed Omar. His farm is located in Horo Hadley, 2 hours from Hargeisa, the capital city of Somaliland. The farm is nested by a dhoox (river) and the coffee trees are grown under the shade of an acacia tree. Out of the many trees planted decades ago by Mohamed's grandmother, only six survives to this day.
We did everything needed to unleash this coffee's potential, starting with an extra drying, manual hulling, and roasting this coffee to its strength. Horo Hadley Delights boasts a fruity flavor profile with a light body, making it drinkable as a medium-roast espresso. Mild caramel and fresh banana flavors. Tons of clean fruit-like sweetness with winey acidity.
