Ernie Els Big Easy Cabernet Sauvignon - Case

Ernie Els Big Easy Cabernet Sauvignon | Stellenbosch, South Africa

Varietal/Blend: 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Cinsault

Tasting Notes: Vibrant blackcurrant and red plums create a captivating entry, followed by notes of cassis and tea leaf. Lifted red-berries and morello cherries mingle with subtle vanilla pod and toasty nuances, all balanced by keenly pitched red-toned acidity and fine tannins leading to a chalky, elegant finish.

Body: Full (13.72% ABV)

Food Pairings: Grilled red meats, hearty stews, and aged cheeses—equally splendid for casual garden barbecues or more formal dinner affairs.

Winemaker Notes: Harvested from warm north-facing slopes of the Helderberg region, 250 metres above sea level and just 15 kilometres from the cooling Atlantic Ocean. Hand-picked and carefully sorted before fermentation in open-top tanks, with a small portion of the Cabernet Sauvignon spending 6 months in concrete eggs. Matured for 14 months in French and American oak, creating a wine with exceptional phenolic ripeness, depth, and fruit purity.
