Promis 2017 is a fine Tuscan wine produced by Ca Marcanda Gaja. It is made from a blend of international Merlot and Syrah grapes plus a small amount of Sangiovese, aged 12 months in barriques and is a structured and elegant wine characterised by a beautiful aromatic complexity of fruit, spices, balsamic notes for a warm and balanced sip.
The elegance and roundness of Merlot (55%) and Syrah (35%) match with the essential rigour of Sangiovese (10%).
Promis opens with floral aromas of wild rose and violet, then it turns into a more earthy bouquet with hints of maritime pine, eucalyptus, roots, wet stones. The palate is fresh and juicy, with notes of red and black fruits – raspberry, wild strawberry and mulberry. Creamy, smooth tannins. The final is sapid with a peculiar smoky and spicy character. With its notes of rosemary, wild fennel, embers, the Promis perfectly mirrors the Mediterranean scrubland which surrounds it. Harmonious and enjoyable wine from the very beginning, with an ageing potential of 8-10 years.
