The history of winery Gaja begins in 1859, the year in which Giovanni Gaja, a local grape grower in Barbaresco, Piemonte, founded a small wine company under his own name. Angelo Gaja - in the company since 1961 - is one of the wine producers who has ensured that Piedmont has become known in the international wine world. Gaja is conquering the whole world with its beautiful Barbarescos - the company's showpiece. Angelo Gaja's daughters Gaia and Rosanna, now the fifth generation, are now slowly taking over the helm. Together with their brother Giovanni, they continue the family tradition of making exceptionally beautiful wines. In his time, Angelo did not want to conform to what he considered to be a restrictive Italian system of designations of origin. He let him downgrade the Single Vineyard wines.
Beautiful mineral, pure chardonnay, full of tropical fruit and with silky, elegant tannins. The taste is rich, with concentrated ripe fruit, balanced by lively fresh acidity.
