Clay pots (harl) were chiefly used in food preparation , the life of a shona individual could not be without pottery. Most of the food was cooked , , it was cooked in clay pots owning a clay pot (harl) embodied ability to utilize opportunities , thus clay pots occupied a significant role in shona society
