Terazosin 1 mg Tablet is an antihypertensive medication used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and to relieve symptoms associated with Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH), also known as prostate enlargement. Terazosin works by relaxing the muscles in the blood vessels and prostate, which helps to lower blood pressure and ease urinary symptoms such as painful urination or urinary urgency.
In patients with hypertension, Terazosin helps to reduce blood pressure, thereby lowering the risk of complications such as stroke and heart attack. For individuals with BPH, it helps to improve urine flow and reduce the discomfort caused by an enlarged prostate.
However, Terazosin 1 mg Tablet should be used with caution, as it may cause a sudden drop in blood pressure (hypotension), leading to temporary loss of consciousness (syncope). It is important to monitor blood pressure regularly and adjust the dosage accordingly.
This medicine is not recommended for use in children.
