Lamivudine Stavudine 40mg Tablets

Lamivir S 150mg/40mg Tablet

Description:
Lamivir S 150mg/40mg Tablet is a combination antiretroviral medication containing Lamivudine (150mg) and Stavudine (40mg). It is prescribed for the treatment of HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) infection. Both active ingredients belong to the class of nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs), which work synergistically to inhibit the replication of the virus within the body. This helps to reduce the viral load, improve immune response, and manage the progression of HIV infection to AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome).

Therapeutic Uses:

Management of HIV-1 infection in adults and adolescents

Used as part of a combination antiretroviral therapy (ART) regimen

Mechanism of Action:
Lamivudine and Stavudine both interfere with the viral reverse transcriptase enzyme, preventing the virus from multiplying and thereby slowing the progression of the disease.

Packaging:
Typically available in blister or bottle packaging, with standard pack sizes such as 10x10 tablets (100 tablets per box), or as per market and regulatory requirements.

Note:
Lamivir S should be administered under the supervision of a qualified healthcare provider. Regular monitoring of blood counts, liver function, and viral load is advised during treatment. This medication is not a cure but significantly aids in managing HIV when taken consistently as prescribed.
