Lamivudine, Zidovudine & Efavirenz IP 600mg Tablets
Lamivudine, Zidovudine & Efavirenz IP 600mg Tablets is a fixed-dose combination of three antiretroviral medications used in the management of HIV-1 infection. This combination therapy helps suppress the replication of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), thereby improving immune function and reducing the risk of HIV-related complications.
Composition:
Lamivudine
Zidovudine
Efavirenz (IP 600mg)
Uses:
This medication is indicated for the treatment of HIV infection in adults and adolescents. It is a part of antiretroviral therapy (ART) aimed at reducing viral load, increasing CD4 cell counts, and slowing the progression of HIV to AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome).
Mechanism of Action:
Lamivudine and Zidovudine are nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs) that block HIV replication by interfering with reverse transcriptase, an enzyme the virus uses to replicate.
Efavirenz is a non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NNRTI) that also inhibits the activity of reverse transcriptase through a different mechanism.
Packaging:
Available in strip or bottle packing, typically in boxes of 10x10 tablets (100 tablets per box), or as per regulatory specifications.
Note:
This medication should be used under the supervision of a qualified healthcare professional. Regular monitoring of viral load and CD4 count is recommended during treatment.
